There will be a wide selection of additional programming across the BBC to coincide with the 2016 Olympics, reflecting the life and culture of Rio, athleticism and the world’s leading athletes.

With unprecedented access to Mo Farah, Mo (w/t) is a one-hour documentary charting the athlete’s brutal training schedule and his family life in the build-up to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
This one-off programme gives a unique insight into the double Olympic gold medallist and his quest for glory, following him through unforgiving and remote training camps and races across the world.
This revealing documentary delves into his life beyond the track and training, exploring the events that have shaped Farah into the man he is today, including a visit to his childhood home in Djibouti, the country he left as an eight year-old.

In this Olympic Imagine Special,One Night in 2012, director Danny Boyle is reunited with the Opening Ceremony creative team to explain the thinking, ambition and challenges that went into creating 'The Greatest Show on Earth'.
With exclusive access to behind-the-scenes footage, from audition through to the night itself, this is the story of 90 minutes that rekindled a country’s faith in itself and dazzled the world when it mattered - on the night. It was a warm-up act like no other.
This documentary will also give a voice to some of the 7,500 volunteers, with their stories forming the spine of the film. Though many of these people were non-professionals, they formed a bond that made the world sit up and take notice. This is a unique glimpse into the friendships that were forged, the talents that were discovered and the lives that were changed.

This 30-minute programme follows their journey to Rio, and explores what it really takes to work with, and coach, the Olympic and world champion.

Brothers Alistair and Jonny Brownlee are the most loyal of friends and yet the toughest of rivals. They have the capability of bringing the best - and at times, the worst - out of each other. In Rio 2016, Alistair will aim to become the first triathlete to successfully defend their Olympic title, while younger brother Jonny’s target is to improve on the bronze medal he earned at London 2012. In the build-up to the Games, BBC Sport journalist Tom Fordyce explores the brothers’ relationship as he looks in to what it is that makes them so unique, and their achievements so extraordinary.
