Nearly 50 years after the first appearance of a non-British orchestra at the Proms, 10 international orchestras appear for the first time at the festival, including musicians from China, Greece, Lapland and Singapore. Several of them will perform new repertoire from their own nations.

Some of the world’s most renowned orchestras also make welcome returns to the Proms, including the Berliner Philharmoniker, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich.
