Debut artists featuring at his year's BBC Proms.

Japanese joint Gold Medal winner at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Nobuyuki Tsujii performs Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with Juanjo Mena and the BBC Philharmonic (16 July).

18-year-old Canadian, Jan Lisiecki joins Sir Antonio Pappano and the Orchestra of the Academy of Santa Cecilia, Rome, in a performance of Schumann’s Piano Concerto (19 July).

Japanese Noriko Ogawa joins Kathryn Stott in a performance of Malcolm Arnold’s Concerto for two pianos (three hands) with the BBC Concert Orchestra led by Barry Wordsworth (31 July).

American Peter Serkin joins the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Oliver Knussen to perform Stravinsky’s Concerto for piano and wind instruments and Movements for piano and orchestra (1 August).

Young Russian Daniil Trifonov performs Glazunov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with Valery Gergiev and the London Symphony Orchestra (13 August).

Sunwook Kim joins the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for a performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 under Kirill Karabits (14 August).

In his 75th year, Frederic Rzewski gives his Proms performance debut (having had compositions performed in previous years) in the world premiere of his Piano Concerto (BBC commission) alongside the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Ilan Volkov (Late 19 August).

Alexander Melnikov joins the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Antoni Wit in a performance of fellow Russian Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2 (23 August).

Serbian-born Anika Vavic makes her Proms debut with Vladimir Jurowski and the London Philharmonic Orchestra performing Prokofi ev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 (30 August).

Ukrainian-born pianist and YouTube sensation Valentina Lisitsa performs Addinsell’s Warsaw Concerto with the BBC Concert Orchestra and conductor Keith Lockhart (31 August).

Norwegian pianist and BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Christian Ihle Hadland joins the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 (3 September).

Violinists taking to the Proms stage for the first time

Young Norwegian Vilde Frang gives a performance of Bruch’s Violin Concerto No.1 with John Storgårds and the BBC Philharmonic (6 August).

Terje Tønnesen both performs with and directs the Camerata Nordica in their Proms Saturday Matinee (PSM 31 August).

Latvian Baiba Skride performs Szymanowski’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with Vasily Petrenko and the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra (2 September).

Tine Thing Helseth gives the London premiere of Matthias Pintscher’s double trumpet concerto Chute d’étoiles led by the composer and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (18 August).

Richard Hills plays classics of the light organ repertoire (26 August) and Klaus Sonnleitner, present-day organist at St Florian’s Abbey, Linz, where Anton Bruckner was once organist, performs Bach on the Royal Albert Hall organ ahead of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance of Bruckner’s Symphony No. 8 (6 September).

Singers including Michael Weinius (18 July), Maria Agresta (20 July), Clara Mouriz (25 July), Genia Kühmeier (9 August), Jennifer Johnston (11 August), Kristı-ne Opolais (17 August) and Ruby Hughes (4 September) also make their first Proms appearances.
