The Proms celebrates Malcolm Sargent, who steered the festival as its Chief Conductor from 1947 until his death in 1967, 50 years ago.

Malcolm Sargent Tribute (24 July)
A recreation of the 500th concert Malcolm Sargent conducted at the Proms in 1966. The BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Andrew Davis presents a programme highlighting Sargent’s work as a champion of English music.
