There are a lot of people who get married really young and can easily get caught up in something. Fletch and Caz work well together but she ends up triggering something in him which doesn’t have the desired effect.
Tell us about the character you play, Fletch.
Fletch is an ordinary guy who has a very normal job in a warehouse - there’s a monotonous routine to his life. He has never known who his father is having always been told he’s a musician somewhere. He got married very young and sticking to his routine of life has brought him into a rut.
Fletch discovers that his Mum has lied to him in an attempt to protect him – do you think she did the right thing or would honesty have been better?
I think she did do the right thing in retrospect because he was conceived during a one-off quickie. I think she was just trying to protect him from the brutal reality of that. Unfortunately, this backfires in Fletch’s story when he finds out the truth.
Fletch starts questioning the life that he’s built for himself. What causes this?
I think it’s the realisation that he doesn’t really know who he is and he’s rushed into marriage from a young age. His wife Caz is the one person he felt he could trust and something happens which makes him question that when she goes behind his back and gets involved with something she shouldn’t.
Can you relate to Fletch’s character in any way?
Definitely - I can relate to being stuck in a routine and before you know it 12 months have gone by. I try to consciously not let that happen.
What was it like working alongside Griff Rhys Jones?
Griff is a good guy, very intelligent, knowledgeable and a great actor. He’s a really funny man and it was an absolute pleasure to work with him.
Do you think audiences will be able to relate to Fletch and Caz?

What’s the biggest lie you’ve ever told?
I don’t usually tell lies as I’m a very honest young man. But probably my answer to ‘Does my bum look big in this?’
