Magna Carta - Radio 1

Radio 1's Magna Carta programming

Published: 7 January 2015

Radio 1 will be marking the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta during Internet Safety Week (w/c 9 February 2015). The station will be in conversation with its millions of listeners during a week-long focus on online bullying and behaviour - asking for contributions to the digital charter.

The Surgery with Aled and Dr Radha on Wednesday 11 February (9-10pm) will be dedicated to a live discussion around the topic of online bulling, the context of the Magna Carta project, and exploring relevant case studies.

Other activity during the week-long focus will include a special programme involving Radio 1’s roster of influential vloggers that host the station’s Internet Takeover - including Dan and Phil - arguably some of the most influential people online right now for young people. As well as the dedicated week to the topic, Radio 1 will revisit online bullying throughout the year. Radio 1 will be supporting the British Library’s Magna Carta: My Digital Rights project, which will be inviting young people to debate questions affecting their digital world.
