Rosie and Jude

Rosie and Jude

Published: 19 April 2016

Sixteen year-old schoolgirl Rosie (Hannah Midgley) accidentally got pregnant when she was 15, after having sex for the first time. Her mum had died from breast cancer a couple of years before and Rosie was frightened what her widowed dad would say, so she decided to hide it from everyone.

Scared and alone she took comfort in reading Kim’s pregnancy blog, and so when she went into labour it was Kim that she turned to for help.

Rosie lived in a high-rise council flat with her lorry driver dad, but when he ended up in hospital after a terrible accident she couldn’t live there on her own. Kim took Rosie in, much to her partner Susie’s disbelief, and when Rosie revealed that the father of her baby was none other than Susie’s son Jude (Danny Breeze), Susie accused Kim of choosing Rosie over Jude. When Susie and Kim broke up, Rosie felt responsible.

But despite a rocky start, Rosie and Jude have risen to the challenge of parenthood and they’ve fallen for each other along the way. Rosie’s a natural mum and has thrown herself into motherhood with abandon. She’d rather stay home with baby Dinah than go to school, but Jude’s trying to juggle being a father with getting his A-levels. They’ve had to grow up pretty fast, but with no money coming in they’re stuck living in Jude’s mum Susie’s house - and they’re starting to get under each other’s feet.
