Kim and Neil
Kim and Neil

Bisexual Kim’s (Katherine Parkinson) life has drastically changed from when she was expecting her first baby with partner Susie (Tara Fitzgerald) last year.
After she revealed to Susie that she and sperm donor Neil (Jonathan Kerrigan) conceived baby Emily the old-fashioned way, Kim and Susie tried to make things work. But in the face of Kim's growing feelings for Neil, and Susie’s hostility over Kim’s relationship with Rosie, their relationship broke down, and Kim and Neil have been together ever since.
Kim hasn’t seen Susie since the split - but with Jude being Neil’s son and Rosie living in Susie’s house, she's anxious that she’ll have no choice but to face her sooner or later.
Kim is a natural mother and she fell instantly in love with her baby daughter. She wants to make sure she’s doing everything right for Emily and so she’s feeding her on-demand and won’t leave her alone with anyone else, even her father. But her mission to be the perfect mum is taking its toll on her relationship with Neil. He tries to be supportive, but as she gets more and more lost in a world of nappies, their sex life plummets to an all-time low. He doesn’t want to upset Kim and finds himself tiptoeing around her and keeping things from her that he knows will hurt her. But he knows he can’t protect her from the truth forever.
