The Butland family from Penryn, Cornwall, can trace their Cornish roots back a number of generations and consider Cornwall a place they’d never leave. Ann has been cooking since she was 12 and is a dab hand at all the family favourites. By day she runs a wedding chair dressing service and in her spare time indulges her passion for art. It’s this creative flair which she likes to add to her dishes, although her son Ryan thinks it rarely translates.
Ryan, a gas engineer, was a very fussy eater as a child and would refuse to eat anything but smiley potato faces and pizza. His palate has developed with age and he now loves all different kinds of food. Ryan is known as the stress head in the kitchen and mischievous Ann and Amy love nothing more than to push his buttons.
Amy, a native Midlander, moved down to Cornwall to live with Ryan, her boyfriend of four-and-a-half years, and is a marketing officer. Amy was diagnosed with Celiac disease last year and although it has impacted on the ingredients she uses, it hasn’t affected her passion for cooking and she still helps out with non-celiac recipes in the house. She loves making lasagne, Victoria Sponge cake and Mexican dishes like chilli con carne.

Angellica Bell

The reigning champion of BBC One’s Celebrity MasterChef, Angellica’s intelligence, wit and warmth shine through every time.
With 17 years of network TV experience under her belt, she has emerged as a significant presenter of factual and entertainment programmes, including Ill Gotten Gains (BBC One), 50/50 (CBBC), Something For The Weekend (BBC Two) and many more. She has also been a part of The One Show since its inception as a reporter and with regular stand-ins as a main presenter.
Tommy Banks

Born and raised in Oldstead, North Yorkshire, into a family of farmers, chef Tommy Banks’s passion for food and nature flourished from a young age.
Tommy’s family bought The Black Swan just as he finished school and he started working there with no real intention of becoming a chef, but by 2013, at the age of 24, Tommy was awarded a Michelin Star - making him the youngest Michelin-starred chef in Britain at the time.
