The Antoniou Family

The Antoniou family from Barnet in London are a food-mad family, loving nothing more than whisking up meals for them to all enjoy.

Lorraine is a voluntary charity worker and stay-at-home mum, Zoe has recently graduated from university with a degree in film, and Michael runs his own clothing brand and agency. They say they all lead hectic lives, but family meals are the mainstay that keep them bonded together.

Lorraine is the main cook in the house and has always loved making meals for her children. Lorraine loves to make all her food from scratch whenever possible, and tries to not shop at supermarkets, preferring to visit local butchers, grocers and specialist stores to get her ingredients.

Zoe wanted to be a chef when she was younger, and although she never pursued it as a career she did enter some local cooking competitions. She is a very experimental cook and enjoys just making meals out of whatever ingredients take her fancy.

Michael also loves to cook, but takes a steer from his mum. He says he frequently goes to friends’ houses to cook, and will secretly have his mum on the phone giving him guidance on what to do.

While Zoe thinks she has a great taste in food, Michael says her experimental meals make her palate questionable. The siblings each think they’re the better cook - but agree that their mum beats them both hands down.

Tommy Banks

Born and raised in Oldstead, North Yorkshire, into a family of farmers, chef Tommy Banks’s passion for food and nature flourished from a young age.

Tommy’s family bought The Black Swan just as he finished school and he started working there with no real intention of becoming a chef, but by 2013, at the age of 24, Tommy was awarded a Michelin Star - making him the youngest Michelin-starred chef in Britain at the time.
