Interview with Claire Rushbrook
Claire Rushbrook plays Fran.

It’s a gentle insight into humanity and a natural look at people behaving as they do until curve balls hit them.
What can audiences expect from the show?
It’s a gentle insight into humanity and a natural look at people behaving as they do until curve balls hit them. From Fran’s point of view, we see the depth of the friendship that she has with Pete. I generally think I’m quite a positive and optimistic person. I have that in common with Fran.
Who’s your favourite character in Don’t Forget The Driver?
I think my favourite character in the show is Kieran, who plays my son. The actor (Wills Whittington) who plays him is very funny. He’s great. Working with him has been a delight. As an actor he’s got great instincts and is very in the present. He’s very much connected with what’s going on organically in the scene. And as a bloke he is hilarious.
How was working with Toby and the rest of the cast?
It was great working with Toby Jones. Obviously his talent and reputation go before him and I wasn’t disappointed. My initial impression was of a generous and gentle soul. I am glad to report that now I know him better, I find him to be a merciless piss taker of the highest order, who can very cleverly be brilliant and a right laugh simultaneously. As most of my favourite actors to work with are.
Why did you want to get involved with this series?
I loved the script. Tender, subtle, darkly comic and poignant. I’d worked with the director Tim Kirkby before when he cast me in My Mad Fat Diary, so knew I was in safe and inspiring hands.
How was filming in Bognor?
Bognor Regis was glorious! Sunshine and beautiful beach and sea front. I was very happy.
