Selina Griffiths plays Connie
Selina Griffiths talks about his role in the new BBC Three comedy Cuckoo.

Q. Tell us about your character, Connie
A. Connie is a wife, mother and estate agent, though not necessarily in that order of importance. Appearances are very important to her, as are people's perception of her and her family. Her relationship with her son, Zeb, could probably keep an army of therapists busy for years.
Q. Is she very different to other characters you’ve portrayed in the past?
A. In some respects, she's very different but in others, not so.
Q. What attracted you to the role?
A. When I met with the writers, Robin and Kieron, and the producer, Dan, I had a good feeling about the project and they made me laugh, which always helps.
Q. What kind of relationship does Connie have to Ken and Lorna?
A. Connie and Lorna are good friends as well as work colleagues and as is so often the case with couples who are friends, Ken simply comes as part of the package as far as Connie's concerned.
Q. Do they have a similar relationship to yours and Steve’s?
A. Oh no!
Q. What do you think about Rachel’s bombshell? How would you react if your daughter did the same?
A. I have absolutely no idea what I would do if she brought Cuckoo home, but of course if it were Andy, I would be more than thrilled...
Q. Your character indulges in some singing during the series, do you sing professionally?
A. "Indulges" is the right word, in Connie's case. Of course it took many hours of practice to be that bad, suppressing my natural talent. No.
Q. What was it like working with a cast full of comedians? Did you all constantly laugh and did the laughs continue after the cameras stopped rolling?
A. It was a joy from start to finish. Apart from Greg. He's not funny at all!
