Children in Need 2017
The BBC Children in Need Appeal Show is back with an all-star line-up of presenters.

Tess Daly, Graham Norton, Mel Giedroyc, Ade Adepitan and Rochelle and Marvin Humes will guide viewers through a night of dazzling entertainment and aim to raise millions of pounds for BBC Children in Need.
Tess and Ade will open the show with performances and surprises from some of the nation’s most loved stars. Graham and Mel then take the reigns as the entertainment continues, and Marvin and Rochelle close the show with some final treats before they reveal the on the night total.
Along the way, appeal films will feature some of the children and young people whose lives have been changed through the support of BBC Children in Need, and the people who work tirelessly to help them.

Weakest Link Celebrity Special for BBC Children in Need
The Queen of Mean, Anne Robinson returns for a Special Celebrity Edition of the Weakest Link for Children In Need.
Seven brave celebrities including Actor John Thomson, Love Island winner Kem Cetinay, Chef Rosemary Shrager, Actress Chizzy Akudolu, Columnist Giles Coren and Presenters Rylan Clark-Neal and Maya Jama, face the wrath of Anne as they work as a team and attempt to answer a series of general knowledge questions to win up to £15,000 for the charity.
However, only one can win, six will leave with nothing as round by round their teammates vote them the weakest link.
Strictly Come Dancing BBC Children in Need Special 2017
Swapping sticky back plastic for tripping the light fantastic six well-loved Blue Peter presenters from the past 60 years will enter the glitz and glamour of the ballroom.
Mark Curry, Diane-Louise Jordan, Anthea Turner, Tim Vincent, Konnie Huq and Radzi Chinyanganya, will join forces with the strictly professional dancers in a bid to win the Pudsey Glitter Ball trophy for BBC Children in Need presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

EastEnders
East End meets the West End as the EastEnders cast sing their way round The Square. Performing popular numbers from some classic West End musicals, this is the cast as you’ve never seen, or heard them before!
Doctor Who
BBC Children in Need will preview an exclusive first look at the Doctor Who Christmas Episode.
Children’s Choir
Over 1,500 children across 10 different UK locations will be coming together to sing in unison for Pudsey as the Children’s Choir perform live on the night.
Fundraiser of the Year
Celebrating the amazing fundraisers who go above and beyond to raise money, Joanna Lumley will present the Sir Terry Wogan Fundraiser of the Year to a worthy winner.
Music Performances
The BBC Children in Need Appeal Show is known for its performances from the music industry’s most loved artists, and this year is no different!
Superstar Rita Ora will join us in the studio as will pop band The Vamps and US star Jason Derulo and more exciting acts to be announced.
There will be a special treat straight from London’s West End as the cast of Annie featuring Strictly’s very own Craig Revel Horwood take the stage, and three of Theatreland’s fabulous leading ladies, Amber Riley from Dreamgirls, Beverley Knight from The Bodyguard and Cassidy Janson from Beautiful: The Carole King Musical will dazzle us with a very special performance.

The One Show’s Rickshaw Challenge
This challenge is back with an all new team of six young riders, all of whom have been supported by BBC Children in Need funded projects, and brand new 500-mile route from London to Glasgow. The team of six will push themselves to the limit, battling steep hills and braving the elements in the hope that their efforts will help them raise as much money as possible for BBC Children in Need - all of which will go on to make a difference to young lives across the UK.
Cycling alongside the team once more is The One Show’s Matt Baker, who will go on the road offering support and advice throughout the journey, whilst co-presenter, Alex Jones, follows their every move and cheers the team on, live from the studio.
The team will set-off on Thursday 9 November from The One Show studio at New Broadcasting House in London and will work their way across the UK in a bid to cross the finish line in Glasgow on Friday 17 November, during BBC Children in Need ’s 2017 Appeal Show.
To date the Rickshaw Challenge has raised more than £16million for BBC Children in Need, and this year the public can join in by taking on their own ‘virtual rickshaw challenge.’ The money raised by those who take part will help push the Rickshaw Challenge fundraising total even higher. DIY SOS: The Big Build BBC Children in Need Special
The DIY SOS team descends on Swansea to tackle one of their biggest challenges to date. This special DIY SOS: The Big Build shares the stories from some of Wales’ most vulnerable young people as the team, with the help of hundreds of volunteers, purpose-build a new home for The Roots Foundation Wales, a charity which supports children and young people in care or leaving care. The programme will be broadcast on during BBC Children in Need Appeal Week on BBC One.

BBC Children in Need Rocks the 80s
a-ha, Bananarama, Boy George, Erasure, Europe, Imagination Featuring Leee John, Jason Donovan, Katrina from Katrina & The Waves, Louisa Johnson, Mica Paris, Nick Heyward, OMD and UB40 Featuring Ali, Astro and Mickey will take to the stage to perform some of the most iconic hits from the 1980s, at The SSE Arena, Wembley, for BBC Children in Need Rocks the 80s. The star-studded line-up will transport viewers back to the era in a glittering celebration of the decade in which BBC Children in Need’s first major appeal took place.
Hosted by Fearne Cotton and Sara Cox, with Roman Kemp capturing all the excitement backstage, the show will also share moving stories from some of the children and young people experiencing disadvantage around the UK, who have been supported by projects funded by the BBC Children in Need , as the charity raises money for the good cause. The concert will be televised during BBC Children in Need Appeal Week on BBC One.
Across BBC English Regions
The radio stations across England are pulling out all the stops again this year as they come up with more wonderful and creative ways to fundraise for BBC Children in Need.
Just a small selection of examples of activities going on include:
- BBC WM’s 24 hour karaoke marathon, where presenter Richie Anderson will be singing karaoke tunes for 24 hours
- BBC Somerset’s Breakfast presenter, Claire Carter will be walking 75 miles in wellies
- BBC Radio Merseyside will be sending their Breakfast presenter and producer out in the region as the ‘Biking Buskers’ to cycle and sing at the same time
