Digital
Digital will be at the heart of BBC Music. BBC iPlayer will bring audiences the best live and on-demand music programmes from across the BBC, with more music from your favourite artists, festivals and shows, curated in new ways.

BBC Playlister will get even better, with more personal playlists from the BBC presenters or programmes that you love.
From later this year bbc.co.uk/music will bring fans more music coverage and content tailored to their music tastes, enabling all audiences to enjoy the music they love from the BBC, whenever and wherever they are.
Later in 2014, subject to BBC Trust approval, BBC Radio 1 will be launching a branded space within BBC iPlayer - providing a platform for audiences to enjoy the station’s distinctive content, including Live Lounge performances, regular Radio 1 features such as Innuendo Bingo, and big guest interviews.
With over three billion requests in 2013 and an average of 300 million requests per month, BBC iPlayer will be the home for live and on-demand music content from across the BBC. This will mean even more live music on BBC iPlayer, including:
- The best up-and-coming music from Radio 1’s Live Lounge, as part of a proposal to launch a Radio 1 branded space on BBC iPlayer later this year (subject to BBC Trust approval)
- Exclusive content from Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds festivals - with full sets being made available on-demand for 30 days
- An exclusive BBC iPlayer Proms collection, featuring the best live performances from the season
BBC iPlayer Radio, with over five million downloads of the app since its launch, will remain the home for live and on-demand radio programmes from the BBC as well as recorded and live sessions across all music genres.
From later this year, bbc.co.uk/music powered by BBC Playlister will be transformed and offer audiences a richer and more personal music experience, with recommendations from some of the best music experts based on their tastes and preferences.
And BBC Playlister will get even better, with simpler page functionalities to allow audiences to organise their lists and export them to more music providers of their choice.
BBC Playlister will also be made available across a range of BBC TV programmes on BBC iPlayer, enabling our audiences to discover, remember and listen to the music they like - whether it’s tracks from Later… With Jools Holland, that song playing in the café in EastEnders, a track from Metallica’s set at Glastonbury or one of the works from the BBC Proms.
