Technology needs all voices, inputs and opinions to ensure we are forming well-rounded solutions for all of society - women and young girls play a huge role in that.
Sheree’s aim is to communicate the fantastic opportunities the tech industry has to offer and ensure that everyone; regardless of gender, race, and social stature; is able to benefit from these opportunities to reach their full potential.
During this live event an invited audience of students will quiz Sheree about her school days, what it takes to be a success, and how to kick start a career in the Tech industry.
She says: “It is so important to empower our young women and showcase the fantastic array of careers available to them in the tech industry. Technology needs all voices, inputs and opinions to ensure we are forming well-rounded solutions for all of society - women and young girls play a huge role in that.”
Super Assembly is part of BBC Northern Ireland’s Make It campaign focusing on the educational attainment gap in Northern Ireland. This multi-platform initiative aims to help tackle the educational and aspirational needs of 16-24 year olds in Northern Ireland. This is the fifth in a series of inspirational talks by well-known figures in schools throughout Northern Ireland. These talks have, to date, featured football’s David Jeffrey, BBC Radio Ulster’s Stephen Nolan, Boxer Carl Frampton and Radio 1 DJ Phil Taggart.
With a wide range of activities and content across all platforms Make It aims to raise awareness of the educational attainment gap and its wider impact on society and our economy, while providing opportunities for discussion and debate both on and off the air.
