Follow the Lionesses to France on the BBC

The BBC has strengthened its commitment to women’s football by confirming it will broadcast every England Women’s game ahead of the 2019 Women’s FIFA World Cup, starting with the Lionesses’ She Believes Cup fixture against Brazil on Wednesday, February 27 (8.45pm, BBC Four).

Phil Neville’s squad return to the USA this February to take part in the She Believes Cup to face three of the best teams in world football, including current World Cup holders and No.1 ranked side, USA. England were runners-up in this competition in 2018 and will be looking to claim the top spot against Brazil, Japan and hosts USA this time around.

Back on home soil, the Lionesses will play four warm-up games ahead of their 2019 FIFA World Cup campaign in France. Starting on Friday, April 5, England will begin their preparations against Canada before coming up against Spain, Denmark and finally New Zealand on Saturday, June 1. Every game will be broadcast live on the BBC giving fans an opportunity to see how the squad is looking in advance of the tournament kicking off on June 7.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup (7 June - 7 July) is set to be the biggest women’s football tournament to date and the BBC will be there every step of the way. Extensive coverage of every game will be provided across television, radio and online, offering viewers the opportunity to see England and Scotland’s journey in the competition, plus the best players in the world.

In addition to all of the international action, the BBC will also be showing both Women’s FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday, April 14 and the final on Saturday, May 4.
