Narrated by one of Britain’s greatest Paralympic athletes, Baroness Grey-Thompson, the interactive story promotes one of the aims of Sport Relief - to encourage people to get active, as the lead character, Nadiya, overcomes her Sports Day fears by competing in all of Mrs Saunders’ Sports Day events.

Children read and play along with the story helping prepare Nadiya for Sports Day through a series of activities, including finding her special trainers, packing her lunchbox, and keeping Nadiya cool with her water bottle, the items referencing some of CBeebies most loved brands and favourite characters.

The story is available today ahead of Sport Relief 2018 taking place. This year, Sport Relief will be bigger than ever with a whole week of activities lined up.

The week will culminate with a night of unmissable TV live from Salford on Friday 23 March on BBC One. The fun will begin at 7pm with a host of famous faces coming together, with some stepping into new and unfamiliar territory, all in the name of entertainment and fundraising.

Rachel Bardill, Executive Producer, CBeebies Storytime app, says: “Nadiya’s Sports Day, is a brilliant way to inspire families to getting moving for Sport Relief. Narrated by one of Britain’s greatest Paralympians, Baroness Grey-Thompson, I’m sure little ones and grown-ups alike will enjoy reading the story together in the lead up to Sport Relief 2018. The CBeebies Storytime app means they can read about Nadiya’s adventure whenever and wherever they are."

The CBeebies Storytime app is for 0-6 year-olds, and caters for many different reading abilities. The app is free to download on Apple, Android, Kindle Fire devices, is completely free from any advertisements or in-app purchases and features a parental lock for any external links, keeping little fingers safe to read, explore and play.
