BBC One series Stephen: The Murder That Changed A Nation won two awards; Best Documentary Series and Best Historical Documentary for its opening episode, The Loss of Joy.

Patrick Kielty's BBC Two film My Dad, The Peace Deal and Me picked up the award for Best Documentary Presenter. Whilst Best Science Documentary went to Chris Packham: Aspergers and Me.

Also scooping awards were BBC Two's H is for Hawk: A New Chapter which won Best Natural History Documentary, whilst Storyville: The Work - Four Days to Redemption on BBC Four won Best Single Documentary - International and Best Cinema Documentary.

BBC One’s Panorama programme won the award for Best Current Affairs Documentary for Undercover: Britain’s Immigration Secrets. The programme exposed serious chaos, incompetence and abuse at an Immigration Removal Centre and as a direct result there have been Parliamentary select committee hearings and two independent enquiries announced - one funded by G4S and the other by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.

Alison Kirkham, Controller of Factual Commissioning, says: "I’m incredibly proud of the broad range of BBC output recognised by the Grierson Awards. This success is a tribute to all the programme makers and contributors whose work continues to inspire and engage audiences."
