Editor of GQ Magazine to join BBC Radio Wales as part of new arts and culture programming
BBC Radio Wales have announced that Dylan Jones, Editor of GQ Magazine, will join the station to present a new nightly programme from the Hay Festival.

He’s a world class journalist who has a long association with the Hay Festival. He’s the ideal person to be leading our coverage.
The programme, Tonight At Hay With Dylan Jones, will air at 6.30pm each night between May 29 and June 1, and is part of a range of new arts and culture programmes that will be broadcast on the station over the coming months. It will hear Dylan interviewing the biggest names at the festival, as well as include a round-up of each day’s highlights.
Colin Paterson, Editor of BBC Radio Wales says: “He’s a world class journalist who has a long association with the Hay Festival. He’s the ideal person to be leading our coverage”.
Dylan Jones says: “I’m pleased to be joining the BBC’s coverage from Hay. In my view, it’s the best literary festival in the world. I’m looking forward to bringing the highlights to listeners across Wales.”
BBC Radio Wales will also broadcast a festival preview special of The Radio Wales Arts Show presented by Nicola Heywood Thomas, and topical comedy The Leak With Tom Price will be recorded from the BBC tent at Hay on the opening weekend.
In addition to its coverage at Hay, BBC Radio Wales has also announced a brand new monthly culture programme, beginning Friday 6 April. The Arts Review will be presented by Gary Raymond, Editor of the Wales Arts Review, and will feature reviews and critique of arts events around Wales.
Each month, Gary will be joined by a panel to cover and review all of the arts, including TV, theatre, visual arts and music.
Gary Raymond says: “I want The Arts Review to be a breath of fresh air across the creative culture of Wales. It will be a serious and engaged look at the work being produced by artists in Wales by people who know what they’re talking about. I want my guests to get under the surface of a piece of work and rummage inside. It’ll be lively, informed and relevant to the issues of today.”
BBC Radio Wales Editor Colin Paterson adds: “The Arts Review will provide a platform for credible critique of the arts in Wales. These new programmes demonstrate how serious BBC Radio Wales is about arts and culture output.”
