This is one of the most important times to be in Washington. Less than 100 days into the Trump Presidency and the whole world wants to understand what America wants and needs from its new leader.

BBC World Questions allows the public to challenge a panel face to face about the issues that matter to them. The debates are led entirely by questions from the audience who are able to have their say and be heard round the world.

To his supporters, President Trump’s promise to 'make America great again' means more jobs, more security, less immigration and a foreign policy based upon putting America first. His critics fear he is plunging the country into an era of isolationism, division and prejudice.

The flagship radio programme, BBC World Questions, will hear from both sides of the argument as presenter Jonathan Dimbleby is joined by a panel of guests including: Rep Tom Cole, the Republican Congressman from Oklahoma, the Democrat Mayor Pete Buttigieg from Indiana, Carol Anderson, author and Professor of African American Studies and Diana Furchtgott-Roth - author and former Trump adviser, Senior Fellow, Manhattan Institute, Adjunct Professor, George Washington University.

Steve Titherington, Senior Commissioner BBC World Service says: “This is one of the most important times to be in Washington. Less than 100 days into the Trump Presidency and the whole world wants to understand what America wants and needs from its new leader.”

The event will start at 6pm and takes place in the City View Room in the Elliott School of International Affairs – George Washington University. The audience will be asked to submit questions to the panel. To join in the debate and be part of the audience please apply for free tickets here.
