It will see the world's favourite secret agent and his faithful sidekick Penfold appearing in a new child-friendly app which is fun and easy to use.

The fast-paced platform gaming app, based on CBBC website game Danger Mouse, comes with a series of content updates such as new and bonus levels, secret agent gadgets, fun jumping mechanics including a double jump, and three stars to win on every level.

The app is released to coincide with Danger Mouse Day taking place on CBBC next month and will see the early release of two brand new Danger Mouse episodes ahead of the wider series release later this year.

Danger Mouse Ultimate is available to download for free on Android, iOS and Amazon Fire devices and can be enjoyed by Danger Mouse fans of all ages.

Cheryl Taylor, Controller, CBBC said: “Dangermouse is a hugely popular and homegrown animation title for CBBC and we are excited that the mighty mouse will now be accessible for all ardent comedy fans on the move.”

The app has been created by in-house teams based at the BBC’s base in Media City UK, Salford, in collaboration with external agency GoodBoy.

During the development process, the BBC and GoodBoy created a ‘wrapper' that enables BBC Children's to deliver HTML5 games as apps, faster and more cost effective than ever before, maximising investment the BBC makes in games across the web and apps now and in the future.

The Danger Mouse game has been the most successful on the CBBC website since its launch in 2015. It comprises 55 percent of all games loaded on the CBBC website in the last six months.

Iconic animation Danger Mouse blasted back to TV screens with a gadget-packed, gag-laden makeover on CBBC in September 2015 and was an instant ratings and critical success.

It was recently announced that a further 26 episodes have been commissioned to air on CBBC in 2018, following the launch of the second series this year.

Danger Mouse is co-produced by CBBC Productions and FremantleMedia Kids & Family and forms part of their five year co-production partnership with BBC Children’s.

The BBC is the leading children’s broadcaster in the UK, producing and commissioning more home-grown, UK-produced children’s content than any other channels.
