Curious Creatures heading to BBC Two
BBC Two has today confirmed that Kate Humble is to host a brand new panel show for a slot in early-peak.

In Curious Creatures, viewers will learn things about animals that they didn’t necessarily want to know, whilst seeing some of Britain’s best-loved wildlife experts being humiliated by the gaps in their knowledge. Fortunately, the wonderful Kate Humble will be hosting proceedings and on hand should anything get messy.
The programme, Curious Creatures, will be an entertaining and enlightening show that celebrates all facets of the fascinating world of the animal kingdom. It will be packed with breath-taking natural history clips, extraordinary animal facts and spirited debate.
In each show, two competing teams will go head-to-head - captained by wildlife experts Chris Packham and Lucy Cooke. Across a variety of intriguing rounds the experts’ knowledge of wild beasts will be tested to the limit.
Is the tongue of a blue whale heavier than a black rhino? Can the teams identify the mystery growl? When our captains inspect some animal droppings, can they ascertain the origin of the faeces!?
In each round a team’s correct answer wins a body part from a mysterious animal. So as the show progresses each team will build their very own bespoke beast. To win, the teams must correctly identify the parts of their Curious Creature in the endgame.
Dan McGolpin, BBC Controller of Programming and Daytime, says: “In Curious Creatures, viewers will learn things about animals that they didn’t necessarily want to know, whilst seeing some of Britain’s best-loved wildlife experts being humiliated by the gaps in their knowledge. Fortunately, the wonderful Kate Humble will be hosting proceedings and on hand should anything get messy.”
Kate Humble says: “I'm very excited about Curious Creatures. Chock full of fantastic wildlife footage, fascinating facts and two massively competitive team captains trying to out-geek each other, it is wildly good fun!”
Curious Creatures is a 10x30’. It was commissioned by Dan McGolpin, BBC Controller of Programming and Daytime and Jo Street, Commissioning Editor BBC Daytime and Early-Peak. It is a Mighty Productions programme and will be executive produced by Lynn Sutcliffe and Hugh Rycroft.
