Two Doors Down streets ahead with third series commissioned for BBC Two
A third series of Scottish comedy Two Doors Down will be filmed next year, following two hugely successful runs in just eight months.

Scottish scripted comedy is outstanding right now. Still Game had such a phenomenal return in return in 2016 and the recommissioning of Two Doors Down is another high point on which to close the year.
Exploring the best and worst of family life, the sitcom follows the residents of Latimer Crescent as they navigate the trials and tribulations of suburban life.
Starring Arabella Weir, Alex Norton, Elaine C Smith, Doon Mackichan, Sharon Rooney, Jonathan Watson, Jamie Quinn and Harki Bhambra, the show will return to BBC Two in 2017 after being well received by audiences across the UK.
Shane Allen, Controller, Comedy Commissioning, says: “This deftly drawn world has gone from strength to strength thanks to the rich comic dialogue and colourful characters who the audience has taken to its heart.

Two Doors Down has gone from strength to strength since it was first shown as a Hogmanay pilot on BBC One in 2013. Series one aired in Spring 2016 and series two started in November.
The current second series sustained the impressive viewing figures gathered for series one with an overnight average of more than 1million viewers in the UK, and double the average number of viewers for the timeslot in Scotland.
Two back-to-back episodes starting at 10pm on BBC Two tonight will close this current run with six more 30-minute episodes now planned for next year.
A BBC Studios’ Comedy production through BBC Scotland, Two Doors Down is written by Gregor Sharp and Simon Carlyle and executive produced by Steven Canny for BBC Studios Comedy Production. Steven Canny says: “We are overjoyed to be heading back to Latimer Crescent next year.
“The quality of the writing, the wonderful cast and the extraordinary skill of the production team make this show a rare treat for us and we’re very happy that the audience seem to feel the same.
“If you’re very lucky, you get the chance to make a show like this once in your lifetime so to be hitting a third series so quickly is a real blessing.”
Ewan Angus, Commissioning Editor, Television, BBC Scotland, also welcomed the sitcom's return. He said: “Two Doors Down is a brilliantly funny comedy and it’s a great tribute to the writers and the wonderful cast that it’s been recommissioned so quickly.”
Filming will take place on location around Glasgow and at BBC Scotland’s Dumbarton Studios – home to Scottish soap River City.
The return of Two Doors Down underlines BBC Scotland's commitment to produce outstanding comedy in a year that saw the hugely successful return of Still Game, which had its network debut in 2016, and completion of Scot Squad's third series, which airs from January 2017.
