BBC Two’s Peaky Blinders is coming home in spectacular style
Fans will have the chance to attend an exclusive Birmingham screening of the first episode of the third series ahead of its transmission in May.

I'm thrilled that the new series of Peaky Blinders will be screened in its heartland, Birmingham, and I hope the people of the city will enjoy the event. The third series is stronger than ever.
The new series of the BBC Two cult drama Peaky Blinders will see the famous Birmingham gangsters going international, but not before the cast have made a special trip home to the city.
On Wednesday 4 May, BBC Birmingham will welcome the cast of Peaky Blinders at an exclusive screening of the first episode of series three. The event will take place at The Everyman Cinema, Mailbox Birmingham, and the BBC is giving fans of the show a chance to be part of this very special event.
At this unmissable red carpet evening, the attending cast will include Peaky Blinders actors Cillian Murphy (Tommy Shelby), Paul Anderson (Arthur Shelby) and Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs), as well as the show’s producers and writer/creator and Birmingham-born Steven Knight, who will arrive at the screening in spectacular Peaky Blinders fashion.
Fans are encouraged to get into the spirit of the series by dressing up for the occasion in Peaky Blinders-style costumes with flat caps and 1920s attire. Details of how to register for tickets to the screening will be coming soon to the BBC Shows and Tours website.
The news comes as anticipation for series three – returning to BBC Two in May – heightens on social media and among the show’s loyal following. This year the cast, which also includes Helen McCrory, Joe Cole, Sophie Rundle, Finn Cole, Natasha O’Keeffe, Harry Kirton, Aimee-Ffion Edwards and Jordan Bolger will be joined by Tom Hardy, who reprises his role of Alfie Solomons, and new character Father Hughes, played by Paddy Considine.
Series three sees Tommy Shelby pulled into the glamorous and dangerous world of international intrigue in 1920s Britain, putting his entire organisation and family at risk, and forcing him to question everything about his own ambitions and desires.
Steven Knight says: "I'm thrilled that the new series of Peaky Blinders will be screened in its heartland, Birmingham, and I hope the people of the city will enjoy the event. The third series is stronger than ever."
Joe Godwin, Director of BBC Birmingham, says: "This event is going to be a real moment for the whole city to enjoy. Whether you're lucky enough to get tickets to the screening itself or not, there'll still be a spectacular entrance from the cast for all to see. Part of the phenomenal success of Peaky Blinders is thanks to the way Brummies have taken the series to their hearts. This is a chance for us to celebrate the worldwide-success on home turf in an unforgettable evening for Birmingham."
Peaky Blinders is a Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Drama production for BBC Two, executive produced by writer/creator Steven Knight, Caryn Mandabach, Will Gould, Jamie Glazebrook, Frith Tiplady, Cillian Murphy and, for the BBC, Matthew Read.
The show is represented internationally by Endemol Shine International and has sold in 163 countries. Airing on Netflix in the US, Peaky Blinders has garnered considerable critical acclaim, including five BAFTA craft awards and an RTS award for best drama series.
