Christmas Kitchen returns every weekday for two weeks in the run up to Christmas and will be hosted by Matt Tebbutt and Andi Oliver. The programme will help audiences to create the perfect Christmas dish for everything from an impromptu party to a planned family gathering, with celebrity guests and chefs appearing across the fortnight.

Fern Britton Meets... will be on air every Sunday in the run up to Christmas with guests including Alexander Armstrong, Nigel Benn and Rebecca Ferguson; and Christmas City will run across one whole week in December to reveal what it takes to deliver a truly special Christmas for the shoppers, workers, residents and tourists in Greater Manchester.

BBC One’s continuing drama Doctors also celebrates Christmas with a feature episode retelling the Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, when Dr Zara decides that The Mill surgery will stage its own festive performance to cheer up her son who is disappointed with his casting in the school nativity. And Father Brown also returns for its first ever Christmas special.

Dan McGolpin says: “We have some early festive treats in store for viewers on BBC Daytime this December. Andi Oliver will join Matt Tebbutt in presenting a new version of Christmas Kitchen, Rav Wilding and Hayley Hassall will be in Manchester City Centre for Christmas City and Fern Britton returns with her Advent interview series Fern Meets... Rounding off the pre-Christmas period we'll have festive specials from both Doctors and Father Brown."

Christmas City

5x45’

Christmas City is a five-part series for BBC One Daytime presented by Rav Wilding and Hayley Hassall that looks at what it takes to deliver a truly special Christmas for the shoppers, workers, residents and tourists in Greater Manchester, in the busiest period of the year. For over 15 years Manchester has hosted the hugely popular German Christmas Markets which welcome millions of people into the City Centre every year. But that is just one aspect of our Christmas story and, over five magical weekdays, we’ll also go behind the scenes of the shops, theatres, bars and restaurants, churches and emergency services to explore the massive planning and organisation that goes into making sure everyone who comes into Manchester at Christmas time has a safe, enjoyable and memorable festive time.
