In this year's search for the continent's best football player, the BBC is hosting a live show to kick off two weeks of voting where fans will decide who is the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2016.

Hosted in the BBC Radio Theatre and broadcast on BBC World News TV and BBC World Service radio, the BBC's Peter Okwoche will be joined by a panel of experts including: Steven Pienaar, the former South African captain who plays for Sunderland; Tresor Lualua, former DR Congo international; and Eniola Aluko, the Nigeria-born England international who plays for Chelsea Ladies.

The show will unveil this year’s shortlist and feature contributions from all four corners of the continent to celebrate the impact Africa has made on world football, as well as hearing from former winners of the award.

Football fans around the world can find out who is on the shortlist by watching BBC World News or listening to BBC World Service radio from 1800 GMT on Saturday 12 November. They can also follow live updates online using #BBCAFOTY on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or visit the BBC Sport website: www.bbc.com/africanfootball.
