6 Music Festival announces first fringe festival in Bristol
Today the 6 Music Festival announces its first fringe festival, part of this year’s Festival In Bristol. The BBC (BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC England and BBC Introducing In The West) are working closely with venues, promoters, organisations and artists across Bristol to put together an exciting programme for 'The Fringe - Supported By BBC Radio 6 Music Festival'.

It’s great to know that the 6 Music Festival is helping stimulate so much independent activity which will make the city’s amazing and diverse cultural scene even richer
Paul Rodgers, Head of Programmes at BBC Radio 6 Music, says: “It’s great to know that the 6 Music Festival is helping stimulate so much independent activity which will make the city’s amazing and diverse cultural scene even richer.”
The Fleece, Thekla, Louisiana, Start The Bus, The Exchange and Watershed are among venues confirmed so far. They are showcasing the best of Bristol’s creative talents whilst also welcoming artists and performers to the city. The musical focus is on the new - those artists and performers who are leading the new wave of Bristol’s music scene - and more than 100 performances are already confirmed. Whilst most Fringe events are over the weekend, there will be a range of activities in the week leading up to the 6 Music Festival.
For full listings of what’s on please go to the venue’s websites. Below is a flavour of what the week will offer:
