13.4 million tune in to this year’s Great British Bake Off Final
After 10 weeks and 30 challenges, including Black Forest Gateaux, Spanische Windtorte, Flaounas and a wobbly Charlotte Russe, 13.4m people tuned in to the final of The 2015 Great British Bake Off to see Nadiya crowned this year’s winner.

I went into the tent as the smallest baker at 4ft 11’’ but I walked out feeling a giant.
This beat last year’s overnight figure of 12.3m, and made it the most-watched television programme across all channels of 2015.
The peak, at 8.55pm, was watched by 14.5m, beating last year’s figure of 13.3m
Nadiya said: “I went into the tent as the smallest baker at 4ft 11’’ but I walked out feeling a giant - almost as tall as my fellow baker, six footer Mat Riley."
Charlotte Moore, Controller of BBC One, says: “Event television at its best! The dramatic and emotional final of The Great British Bake Off rose to the occasion and brought the nation together on BBC One to become the most-watched TV show of the year with 13.4 million viewers, and a peak audience of 14.5 million, smashing last year’s final. Congratulations Nadiya and the Bake Off team!"
Anna Beattie and Richard McKerrow, Joint CEOs of Love Productions, says: “The whole team at Love Productions are absolutely delighted for Nadiya whose brilliant baking shone so brightly last night. Well done to Tamal, Ian and all of this year's bakers and a huge thank you to Sue and Mel, who keep everybody smiling throughout, and to Mary and Paul, our amazing judges. It was a series to remember.”
