Tune in to CBeebies Radio Week this May

CBeebies Radio Week launches on Saturday May 24 with brand-new programme content available on the channel every single day that week.

Published: 29 April 2014

There’s something for every little listener, from an epic tussle between Super Numtum and that naughty koala Fluffy McTuffy; a seafaring adventure aboard Old Jack’s Boat; to a groovin’ pirate radio show aboard da Jammin’ Dodger.

CBeebies Radio content will link in with programmes to be shown on the CBeebies TV channel over the same week.

CBeebies Radio offers a range of rich and diverse content which introduces its young pre-school audience to a world of sounds, music and voices that can help develop children’s listening and imagination. The daily web-based radio show is a place where children can join in and share adventures in the company of their favourite CBeebies friends. All of the content is available to download as podcasts for those families planning long journeys over the bank holiday weekend and/or half term break.

New content launching that week includes:

The Adventures of Super Numtum

Fluffy McTuffy (the naughtiest koala in the world) wants to take over and the only person who can stop her is… Super Numtum! Fortunately, this pesky koala isn’t very good at maths and our hero is able to stop her with his superior knowledge of addition, subtraction and number bonds. But she’ll be back, you can be sure of it, because she’s naughty!

Sarah and Duck

Sarah is a seven-year-old girl with big eyes and a green hat, who lives with her quacky, flappy, endearing best friend, Duck. The pair embark on simple but exciting adventures, exploring the world both near and far in their own wobbly and imaginative way. Children should listen carefully as there’s a quiz at the end of every show.

My Story

Share the joy of children discovering their family stories as we explore the lives of a Bollywood actor, a ballerina, a Beefeater, a Brownie leader and a steel-pan player. This series encourages listeners to think about their own story.

Rastamouse

Listen up you groovin’ jammers - Lil’ Patch is back aboard da Jammin’ Dodger broadcasting her pirate radio show For Real FM! With a rap of the day, 10 second a tings quiz and some seriously irie tunes there’s plenty a radio to keep those ickle ones busy!

Old Jack’s Boat

Old Jack (Bernard Cribbins) and Salty are back aboard The Rainbow to bring you stories from across the seven seas! Settle down for brand-new seafaring adventures aboard Old Jack’s Boat.

All of these shows and many more are available to listen online at bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/radio. They can also be downloaded so you can take them with you wherever you go.
