Summary
Bangladesh has the fifth highest rate of child marriage globally with over half of girls marrying before the age of 18. Child marriage is particularly common in rural areas, and is one of the key reasons girls drop out of education.
We found that, through incorporating factual information and inspirational stories, community screenings were able to engage adolescents and parents and encourage them to think and talk differently about child marriage and the role of girls within their society.
