They're preparing a play from the ancient book 'Monkey King’s Journey to the West'. Theresa reflects on her own journey to the West.
Theresa Teng has two children who were both born in Britain. In her heart she still feels Chinese but is concerned her children are missing out on their cultural heritage. ![]() Children: performing the play She runs the Huaxia Chinese School in Manchester in her spare time as a volunteer, which opens on Sundays to teach Chinese language and cultural studies. Without it, she worries that children born in Britain of Chinese parents could miss out on knowing about their heritage. The school is performing a story from the ancient Chinese book, The Monkey King's Journey to the West. Called 'Fighting the White Bone Demon' it teaches culture, history and language in a fun way.
