Other SportYou are in: Manchester > Sport > Other Sport > Paralympic World Cup 2008 ![]() Athletics is at the Regional Arena Paralympic World Cup 2008by David Gavrilovic The world’s best disabled sportsmen and women return to Manchester this week for the 4th Paralympic World Cup. More than 400 competitors from 60 countries are taking part.
The event includes four sports: Cycling, Swimming, Athletics and Wheelchair Basketball. The Manchester Regional Arena will host the Basketball and Athletics; the Cycling will be at the Velodrome with the Swimming at the Aquatics Centre. Throughout the week, BBC Radio Manchester will be talking to a number of our local competitors and will keep you up to date with their progress once the event gets under way. Getting thereThe Regional Arena and the Velodrome are part of the Sportcity complex in East Manchester. It's a 25 minute walk from Piccadilly Station and the city centre. Or take the 216 bus from Piccadilly Gardens. By car: take the M60 motorway to Junction 23 and follow signs to Sportcity along the A662. The Aquatics Centre (2 Booth St East, M13 9SS): Take the train to Oxford Road station from Piccadilly Station and walk. By bus: take any 42, 43, 142 or 143 from Piccadilly Gardens.
