Watch: French scientist Joseph Browning

The arrival of a large spider on the side of Concourse House in Liverpool has become a focus of attention.

The spider's arrival is linked to a weekend of events by French company La Machine.

The spider, which is believed to have been disturbed by the large amount of construction work in Liverpool, is currently sleeping.

Joseph Browning is heading a team of French scientists who are looking in to the best way to awaken the spider.

It's believed that a combination of music, movement and lights will cause the spider to stir.
