I have never been a fan of Mission Impossible myself, sure the programme in the 1960s was entertaining, but I have always felt that it, and others such as "The Man From Uncle" and all of Mr Bond's films give off the wrong message. You see, being an evil megalomaniac is hard enough without having to deal with those viewers inspired by TV trying to overthrow us crazed despots. Fortunately MI: Operation Surma will inspire no-one to try and thwart my plans for world domination. When you start this game there is a nice little movie showing off some pretty good CGI and giving the impression that the developers of this game may have made some effort. It is only when you get into the game proper you realise this is yet another title which relies upon the heavily marketed Mission Impossible franchise to try and lure a purchase. | | Dr Leevil finds this version of the series simply impossible! |
What lazy so-and-sos the programmers must have been on this one! What they have come up with is about as original and inventive as a Robson & Jerome album.
This being the gaming equivalent of covering "Unchained Melody" or "Up on the Roof". This is just the same-old rubbish being churned out with a few token changes, albeit without the balding squaddies and the awful singing. I was playing games like this on my PC five years' ago. At the time I thought the graphics were sharp and the games original, which of course they were five years' ago. So to have to see an outdated clone on my PS2 is disappointing to say the least. I think the less said about this one the better. Boring, outdated, unimaginative and uninspiring... I've lost that loving feeling! Roget's Thesaurus says it all really: Impossible (adj.) Definition: intolerable Synonyms: absurd, hopeless, improper, incongruous, ludicrous, objectionable, offensive, outrageous, preposterous, unacceptable, unanswerable, undesirable, ungovernable, unreasonable, unsuitable 3/10 Dr Leevil
