F1 CAREER CHALLENGE SCREENS

Everybody knows that E.A F.1 games are rubbish, apart from the very first P.S.1 incarnation, and even that was only a graphic trifle on an arcade base.

Yes, for those in the know only The Microprose G.P series comes close to real F.1 conditions (although you have to be an F.1 driver to win on it).

So F.1 purists and patient arcade fans alike will now be able to come together and agree on the fact that F.1 career challenge )E.A's new formula one game), is unbelievably the best formula one game in the world ever!

All of the snappiness from the original cars has given way to smooth joyful realistic movement, but it's not so realistic that you think you're skating on ice.

This game is about is about using the curbs to guide you round the corners, staying on the racing line and braking in the right Spot.

That's if you can manage that after the pre-race view of your car between the oh so gorgeous pit-bird's legs.

Points scored while racing can be used to make your pit-bird fitter but I recommend using them on improvements to your racing car.

I could get bogged down in details that don't matter right now so I would rather warn you of the detrimental effects this game will have on your social life.

It will send you into a blissful catatonic state that will not allow you to communicate with other humans (nothing new there then Dave - Ed).

This will not bother you because you will be an F.1 driver. You will have the choice of racing between the 1999 and 2002 seasons which is great because you can use Damon Hill's Jordan, Johnny Herbert's Stewart, Eddie Irvine’s Ferrari or even better than that Jenson Button's Williams (curse Honda in Indianapolis).

I'm currently on the 2000 season driving the McLaren, riding high on the leaderboard hoping not to wear out the on/off switch on my X BOX preventing AutoSave.

Two player mode loses nothing in gameplay, but be patient with your friends because they will be rubbish at it for quite a long time. This is the best racing game since Ferrari 355 on the Dreamcast and it's probably as good.
