CHAOS LEGION SCREENSHOTS

When Chaos Legion first loaded up I could not help think that it may be a rip-off of the Devil May Cry series.

The game opens with an anime-style cut scene where we are introduced to the preposterously named characters within the game.

You are Seig Warheit, a rather poncily dressing Germanic bloke who has vowed to stop another poncily dressed French bloke Victor Delacroix.

His reasons for trying to stop this chap are not exactly clear from the poorly scripted and barely understandable cut-scenes.

But what comes out is that nasty Mr Delacroix wants to merge the spiritual and earthly planes into one so that he can get his dead girlfriend back (has he never heard the one about there being more fish in the sea?).

To make matters more confusing it appears that Seig (the Hero) carries the blame for her pegging it in the first place.

Bizarre! What follows is an extremely dull procession of monsters and locations that fail to inspire and ultimately leads to you developing a repetitive strain injury in
your fingers from all the boring button bashing.

Chaos legion: does Dr Leevil rate it or will it suck

Each location has been less than lovingly crafted, with the graphics looking plain, repetitive and uninteresting, fogging is ridiculous but mercifully masks some of the ugliness of the scenery.

The one attempt at innovation within the game is being able to summon "Legion", or demons as we better know them. As you build up experience points with stylish kills you become able to summon stronger demons to help in you fight against the hoards of baddies.

The demon you can summon gets more powerful as you progress through the game, and towards the end is the one that really does a fair amount of clearing up for you.

You are able to choose from a number of different types of demon which you can summon, with some being better against some foes than others.

I believe that the highest level demon is able to make balloon animals and has a degree in Middle Eastern politics… scary!

Anyway, in summary this game absolutely stinks, its novelty is none-existent; gameplay is repetitive and tedious; graphics and sound poor; and the developers should be strapped into a chair and made to play it through as punishment for their lack of imagination.

3/10
