| | | Midtown Madness 3 promises the world to the speed junky does it deliver? |
| | Can our reviewer pull himself from the clean crisp image of Formula One to try his hand at some dirty street action - Midtown Madness 3 takes on the task |
 | | | I was completely immersed in F1 Career Challenge when I was given a copy of Midtown Madness 3 to play.
I thought "Oh dear, I'm going to have to quit my Formula 1 Career to become a taxi driver", there being a few similarities with the title "Crazy Taxi".
The screen starts the fun off with some simple but very groovy graphics. There are lots of routes that you can take around either Paris or Washington DC working undercover.
It involves driving very fast and apparently being a secret agent at the same time. This is, of course impossible, but don't worry, it's just part of the story line. | | Midtown Madness 3 offers you the chance to go crazy |
You actually just have to drive fast whist following a map and direction arrows. There are lots of different and varied challenges in this mode, so you ain't gonna get bored.
There's also Quick Race, Multi-player and X Box Live modes. Quick Race being the most entertaining for me.
The whole game is about getting to checkpoints an time and orienteering. A nice array of vehicles is on offer, from buses and dustbin lorries to the Mini Cooper and Koenigsegg.
I can only imagine what it's like to drive the koenigsegg, as I spent most of my time in a vehicle that resembled my first car, which was a Sahara beige mk4 Cortina!
Ummmm - "Just like real life". The best things about this game are the grossly exaggerated jumps and the way that you spend half of the time either on 1 or 2 wheels.
This game really works and I would have to give it a reasonable 7 out of 10.
