Listen to our interview! Meet Grace Berrington - she's 83-years-old and from Leicester. When she heard about BBC Radio Leicester's 40th anniversary and the Ruby Rainbow Appeal she decided that she wanted to help in a 'high flying' way.
Grace had not been a daredevil in the past, but on Sunday 22 July she found out whether she had it in her to skydive over Leicestershire's countryside... ALL the way down! BBC Radio Leicester's Chris Highton caught up with her after the jump to find out how she got on... She even managed to pick up a toy boy on the day! Grace was strapped tight to tandem instructor Mike Gorman during her 55 second free fall. ![]() Record BreakerTo participate, Grace needed to raise £350, but she has already smashed that target by raising a staggering £850, with up to £400 still to come in. Not only has Grace managed to help the Ruby Rainbow Appeal, it seems that she's also a record breaker! Sarah Staines from Rainbows thinks that the oldest person to have previously sky dived for the charity was in his seventies.
