 |  |  |  |  | |  |  | Your Story: Beetroot |  | I started work at 8am until 3.30pm and my job was to cook big vats of beetroot. The smell was horrible and always stained my clothes red! I had to travel seven miles to work and walked there most days to save money. I wore a rubber apron to stop splash marks and looked a bit of a fool and always took some stick from my mates.
