| A few weeks ago, nine volunteers from a company called KPMG offered to come and work at our school for the day to help us with our garden project. Their usual job is to train people, interview them and set up courses. We had a very different day in store for them! The volunteers agreed to dig and re-plant an over-grown garden area in our playground. There was a lot of digging to be done! They also helped to paint a beautiful garden mural to brighten up the boring wall at the back of our playground. It looks fab.
The volunteers admitted that they had enjoyed the painting the mural much more than the digging because the hard work meant lots of back ache! They said that the best part of the day for them was seeing what they had achieved. Our playground now has a really nice garden area and soon when the grass has grown we will be able to enjoy story time sitting outside in the sunshine. The volunteers all said that they would love to come again to see the garden when it is finished and we would like them to visit us again too so that we can say a really big thank you for helping us so much. We were amazed after they said they would all love to do the work all over again! Everyone at St Peter's is so grateful for the hard work the volunteers did at our school.
