French Steps (Beginners)
Stage 1: Taking a taxi. Grammar Tip: Basic greetings and farewells.
Stage 4: Getting your bearings. Grammar Tip: Questions and statements with 'il y a'.
Stage 5: Arranging to go out. Grammar Tip: Saying 'we' using on.
Stage 6: At the chemist's. Grammar Tip: Describing symptoms with avoir mal and faire mal. Stating what you need with il faut + noun.
Ma France (Post-Beginners)
Unit 3: Languages. Grammar Notes: Expressions with ça, like ça se prononce comment ? (how's that pronounced?), ça s'écrit comment ? (how's that spelt?)
Unit 4: Shopping. Grammar Notes: Je voudrais... (I'd like...); quantities ; standard shopping phrases ; je paie par/avec... (I'll pay by/with...)
Unit 6: Arrangements. Grammar Notes: Using pouvoir (to be able) and devoir (to have to)
Unit 8: Adventure sports. Grammar Notes: Saying what must be done using on doit and il faut followed by a verb in the infinitive.
Unit 10: Eating out. Grammar Notes: Using phrases like 'moi aussi' (me too), 'pourquoi pas?' (why not?); expressions using avoir.
