Once all the data has been put into the spreadsheet, Alistair can supply his manager with information about the stock. The toolbar
The toolbar contains a variety of tools to enable you to manipulate data and find information (the tools differ between software packages). A popular spreadsheet package has the following shortcut tools that will help you sort information out quite quickly:
Another advantage of spreadsheets is that you can easily change information. If numerical information in the table is changed, the information linked to that cell will automatically be updated. For example: 'Sales' uses information from 'Price' and 'Sold' cells. | A | B | C | D | E | F | G |
|---|
| 1 | Artist | Title | Price | Number | Running Total | Sold | Sales | | 2 | Hell Zombies | I'm upset! | £14.99 | 2 | 55 | 53 | £794.47 |
Sum in cell G2 is: =C2*F2 If another CD is sold, the values in columns D and F will change causing the Sales value to be updated. The table would look like this: | A | B | C | D | E | F | G |
|---|
| 1 | Artist | Title | Price | Number | Running Total | Sold | Sales | | 2 | Hell Zombies | I'm upset! | £14.99 | 1 | 55 | 54 | £809.46 |
Go next to look at some tips on changing the look.
