Hannah took advice from the experts and decided that her best bet was to put her advertising on sandwich bags. She then needed to work hard to get all her facts together to present her case to the Creative Director. The Main Key Skills

Communication:
In this job, research is vital. This is what will make or break or argument. You also need to to be able to talk to people around you about your ideas and find out what people think. Hannah also found she had to brief other members of staff so that they could help her with her project.

Some of your research may involve talking to the public to find out their views. This might mean putting together questionnaires or going out to talk to people. Hannah decided to video interviews with members of the public, which she could use in her presentation.

Once you have all your facts, you need to be able to persuade other people that your ideas are good ones by giving good presentations and providing good reports on your findings.

Number:
Number skills are very important in this job. The client is paying for everything, so they need to know that their money is being spent wisely and in the most effective way. You need to have a good grasp of figures to argue your case and show that you're keeping within your budget. You'll be dealing with a lot of statistics, so you need to be able to understand them in order to justify your argument.

IT:
This is the type of environment where staff are expected to 'hotdesk'. This means being able to move from one computer to another. Hannah found she needed to be fairly confident with computers, especially as she was working on an iMac. She also needed to be comfortable with the software packages she needed to use. She also had to use email, wordprocessing and spreadsheet. If anything goes wrong, you may need to contact the IT department, whose job it is to solve any technical problems that you can't deal with yourself. It's important to know who they are.
