Understanding Standards
How to make your own portfolio checklist

How to make your own portfolio checklist
Activity 2:

Now we need to look at the criteria in Part B, which is listed underneath the bullet pointed list. This will help us to get more information on what's required. We can also find out more by referring to back page of the standards.

You need to put together a new list.
Download your blank document from here.
Click on this link. Choose the Save option, and save the document onto your own computer.

Again, we're going to use the Level 2 ICT standards in our examples, to show you what you should be doing.

  • In the first column, list the criteria as it's written in the standards document.
These are listed as 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3.
Then, in the second column, list the details the document tells you about what the evidence must show you can do. These are beside the criteria in boxes. Write these down as they are written in the document.
Now, have a go at filling in your table. Click on the example to see how we've done it.
    ACTIVITY 2, Example 1

  • For the third column, you need to look through the advice and guidance from the back page of the standards document. From this information, list the advice that is relevant for each of the criteria you've listed.
    ACTIVITY 2, Example 2

  • Look through the list and think of what evidence you might be able to put in your portfolio that show that you can do what is required.
