Over the next few pages, we've given you four activities to do. These will help you to put together a checklist of things you need to do for your course, and work you need to include in your portfolio. This will help you to be much more focussed and organised while you're studying.
Activity 1:
Have a look at the standards for your course. Turn to Part B and look through what it tells you that you must do. The first thing we're going to do is to put together a list of what we need to do. At the top of the page, you'll see a list of bullet points. This is the information we need. We're going to put it all together in a table. To help you to see what you should do, we've given you an example from the Level 2 ICT standards. Download your own blank document from here. Click on this link. Choose the Save option, and save the document onto your own computer. Once you've done this, you can start to fill in the following information. You can either type the information in, or cut and paste it from the standards document you downloaded earlier. - First, you need to list all the points into the first column. Write them down as they are written in the document. In our example, you'll see that the first and second rows say Major task and Second task. This is because the standards tell you that, "Overall, through two or more activities you must ..." be able to prove you've met certain criteria.
Now, have a go at filling in your table. Click on the example to see how we've filled in this first column. ACTIVITY 1, Example 1
- Then, in the second column, try to think of where you can find evidence for each of the criteria.
ACTIVITY 1, Example 2
- In the third column, write down a summary of your evidence you plan to collect.
ACTIVITY 1, Example 3
- The fourth column can be left empty until you have the evidence. Once you do, put a tick in the box.
ACTIVITY 1, Example 4
Remember to save your document, once you've completed it with details for your course. Go to the next screen for the second activity
