This year's Battle is promising to be as successful as previous events, with 30 floats taking part. The main spectacle - the parade along the avenue - will once again be full of colour and sound. Along with the floats, Miss Battle will be a focal point of the parade. This year, Hannah Tully has been crowned, and will be greeting the crowds accompanied by Tracey de Castro, her Maid of Honour. The Battle of Flowers parade takes place on Thursday 14th August, and is followed on Friday 15th by the Moonlight Parade. You can purchase tickets in advance by using the contact information below. Alternatively, tickets will be available on the day at the entrances to the parade area. BBC Jersey will be bringing you closer to the action with live coverage on BBC Radio Jersey (88.8 FM & 1026 MW) on Thursday 14th August 2003, from 13.30 - 17.00. The programme will be hosted by Murray Norton, with roving reporters Colin Bray and John Uphoff.Matthew Price will be joining Murray to commentate on the parade. From 17.40 - 19.00 Lisa Bradley is at Millbrook Park for the announcement of the winning entries for the 2003 Battle of Flowers.
Fiona Spurr and Kristina Moore host a special edition of BBC Spotlight for the Channel Islands on BBC 1 with pictures of the 2003 Battle direct fom St Helier at 1830. As well as this, picture galleries of the Battle will be uploaded to the BBC Jersey website as soon as possible. Pictures of the parade will be available to view from late Thursday afternoon.
