This part of the Marsh family lived in the Deal / Dover area.
Jim served in the 4th Hussars, lying about his occupation to join up in 1939 ( He was a miner at Tilmanstone ).
Frank, his older brother was serving in the 5th Hussars ( a regular ).
Bill, the eldest brother, was working at Tilmanstone colliery, but also found time as a Home Guard officer to do his "bit". He had served in the 4th Btln, The Tank Corp.
I later joined up and served time in Northern Ireland with the 4th Royal Tank Regiment (15/19th Hussars Group).
Others served before, and died in the Great War.

Those left at home were also on the front line during the days of the Battle of Britain.
