Red Army together with Partisans came in Santarovac (village near Jagodina, later Svetozarevo, and now Jagodina again) in October 1944. Some people were shot because of cooperation with nacists. And few Red Army soldiers were shot because of robbery. My father, who was 8 in that time, told me that Red Army soldiers were always smiling, liked to drink, allways asking where Berlin was.
On October the 17th, Jagodina was liberated. My grandfather joined to partisans, but stayed in the area of the town. However, somebody told to Partisan commander that my grandfather was in one action with chetnics (in underware, by force, when they were hunting two partisans), and he was arrested. After some time they let him out, and he came back home. He said: 'Never again with communists'.
But, my father was communist later, and me, too.
