"Sandy", Coogie's dog
Jack "Coogie" Evans from Pontesbury served in the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME) and was based in Italy from 1945 - 1948.
He loved his time spent over there, and even had a little dog while he was there. It was called Sandy.
Unfortunately he had to leave Sandy behind due to English quarantine regulations - it broke his heart. Sandy was left with a family over in Italy.
I, Becky Barugh (of the BBC Radio Shropshire Action Desk) have added this photograph to the BBC People's War site on my own behalf. I fully understand the site's terms and conditions.
