My father was a sleep when the German Panzer tanks were coming...in his under wear he jumped from his barracks and along with his buddy private Cardinelle they ran into the snowy cold night with a bazooka and some rounds...as they approached a hill there was a tunnel into the city...my father Max realized that if they could stop the German tanks there and plug up the tunnel then they could buy some time for reinfrocments to arrive...my father knew he needed to let at least one or two tanks through so he could desroy them and use them as a plug to the entrance stopping the other tanks from sneaking into the city...so he and his buddy in their winter coats still in their underwear...began to allow a couple of tanks through. At just the right moment they opended fire destroying the tanks. Once they were blown up and blocking the tunnel entrance their heroic job was done...I know my father and many other soldiers who used their common sense under great strees...saved many lives...and eventually won the war...My father passed away last year...I miss him...he was a great man...I share this story with you...because it reflects the millions of stories ...that need to be remembered...and shared...and honored...because they gave us a world that was so much better then the won they had to save...God bless all of the men and woman who sarificed...so we could have so much more...
